Landing Gear Recovery Instructions

Your Displace TV activated its built-in safety system, called Landing Gear, due to an emergency situation.

Landing Gear is designed to protect your TV by safely lowering it to the ground when a mounting issue or abnormal condition is detected. The steps below explain how to reattach the suction plate and get your TV back in action.

⚠️ Important

  • This is a two-person procedure
  • If anything feels unclear or difficult, stop and contact Displace Support

Step 1: Prepare the TV

  1. Leave the TV face-down on the floor.
    If needed, clear debris, place a soft towel or blanket down, and gently lay the TV face-down.
  2. Plug in DC power.
    Allow the TV to charge for at least 30 minutes.

Step 2: Remove Suction Plate from Wall (If Attached)

  1. If the suction plate is still on the wall, press both red release buttons to remove it.

Step 3: Prepare the Winch Ropes

  1. Firmly pull both winch ropes to ensure no slack remains.
  2. Person 1: Hold the suction plate by the side grab handles and keep the ropes straight, parallel, and untwisted.
  3. Confirm the TV is charging by checking the power input LED.

Step 4: Retract the Winch Ropes

  1. Person 2: Press and hold the joystick inward to retract the ropes. You may pause and resume as needed.
  2. Person 1 should carry the suction plate as the ropes rewind.
  3. Retraction stops automatically when fully rewound.

Step 5: Attach the Suction Plate

  1. Attach the magnetic connector at the top.
  2. Lower the suction plate into position.
  3. Firmly press the three divots to close the latches.
  4. Gently pull on all four edges to confirm attachment.

If the suction plate will not attach

  1. The latches may already be closed.
  2. Leave the suction plate on the TV with the magnetic connector attached for 30 minutes.
  3. Lift and press both red buttons to open the latches.
  4. Repeat Step 5.

Final Steps

  1. Pop out the legs from the bottom of the TV.
  2. With two people, rotate the TV upright.
  3. Lift straight up to remove speakers.
  4. Allow the TV to charge for at least 1 hour before powering on or wall-mounting.
